Epson Printer compatibility with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
Epson Printer Ranges:
Business Inkjet Printers
Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop are remote desktop systems, this article will explain the compatibility with Epson products.
XenApp Version 6.5, XenApp Version 7.6 and XenDesktop Version 7.6 have been tested using the EPSON Universal Print Driver and the Epson Standard printer driver, the results of the tests are in the table below:
How print data handled
Native driver is installed in the Citrix Server.
(Print to the printer connected to client PC)
The client’s driver print queue is mapped to virtual Desktop and you can then print to it. (It is called Auto Created Client Printer)
Citrix Universal Printer Driver is installed on the Citrix Server side.
This enables the user to print to a printer connected to client PC
Citrix Universal Printer Driver queue is mapped to the virtual Desktop as an Auto Created Client Printer because the native driver is not installed in the server side.
Print using a Session Printer
Citrix Server automatically creates a specific printer queue which is registered as Session printer.
