Wireless Networking: How to setup a wireless printer using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) PIN Code

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is a network security standard used to create a secure wireless home network without the need for knowing the network SSID or password.

The WPS PIN method can be used if push button is not available. A PIN number is displayed on the LCD screen of the printer and this can be entered into the router to create a wireless connection.

  1. Enter the Wi-Fi Setup menu by following one of the methods below depending on your printer. If necessary press the button to return to the home screen.
    Method 1 Select WI-FI Setup
    Method 2 Use the or buttons to select WI-FI Setup and click the OK button
    Method 3 Use the or buttons to select WI-FI Setup and click the OK button
    Method 4 Tap at the top right corner of the LCD screen, then tap Wi-Fi Setup


  2. Select PIN Code Setup (WPS)/ PIN Code (WPS).

  3. Enter the PIN code displayed on the printer's LCD screen into the wireless router's (access point) utility software, and then press Proceed or OK.
    Tip:

    For assistance with the router's (access point) utility software, contact the network administrator or router manufacturer.



  4. When a Setup Complete message is displayed, Wi-Fi setup is finished.
