Where partial pages are produced, this may be caused by a communication-related issue. Possible causes are:
This article provides a guide to identifying the source of the problem and troubleshooting it.
Before you follow the steps below, please note the following information:
Large photo files may not print completely due to insufficient resources of the host computer system. The Epson Stylus range is host-based - this means that a print job is processed by the computer. Factors such as system resources and the application settings can affect the successful print of a file. This is more common if a larger print job is sent to the printer such as a multi-page document, photo, or banner / panoramic print.
Follow the steps below to identify and troubleshoot the issue:
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:
Example of the paper adjust lever at the front of an All-In-One:
If partial pages are printed when the printer is used standalone or with the computer, the problem may be caused by incorrect positioning of the paper edge guide.
The paper edge guide should always be positioned against the side of the paper to enable the printer to function correctly.
Example of the printer's parts on a 'DX' All-In-One:
a) Edge guide: Helps load the paper straight. Adjust the left edge guide so that it fits snugly to the width of your paper.
b) Sheet feeder: Feeds a stack of paper automatically.
c) Paper support: Supports the paper loaded in the sheet feeder.
d) Feeder guard: Prevents objects placed on the document cover from falling inside the printer when opening the document cover.
Epson do not support the use of 'Serial to USB', 'Parallel to USB' adaptor cables, or USB extension cables to connect your device. Such cables lack the consistency of a standard connection.
High Speed Copies
Next, set 'espool' as the new High Speed Copies folder in the printer driver.
If you experience any problems following Steps 5 and 6, see one of the following dedicated articles for a guide which includes screenshots.
This step is not possible for the following products:
For these products, move to the section titled High Speed Copies and check if High Speed Copies is enabled in Speed & Progress. If not enabled, then enable it. If it isn't enabled, try disabling it. You could also try emptying your local 'Temp' folder using Windows' Disk Cleanup. Guidance is available from the Microsoft website. Another simple visual indicator is the type of printer icon displayed next to the printer name. The Epson driver icon should be at an angle, like this: . Whereas the icon for a non-Epson driver is flat like the OS X default: . Other examples are:
If the Test Page does print correctly, try printing a different document. If another document does not print properly, try reducing the size of the data sent to the printer sending a standard text document or smaller photo file.
If partial pages continue to be printed after following the checks above, see one of the following Related Articles for assistance. Please follow the guidance from the beginning of the article:
