Compact commercial device delivers quality, flexibility and reliability

Boost your production with Epson’s new SureLab D700 photo printer

09 July 2014 –Epson recently announced the launch of the Epson SureLab D700, its first six-colour compact photo production printer, offering a wide range of media and format options. Combining vibrant colour output with reliability and cost-efficiency, it is ideally suited to photo production businesses, independent photo shops, event photographers, minilabs and copy shops as well as businesses that need to print high-quality panoramic images, greeting cards or mixed print jobs on demand.

The outstanding flexibility of Epson’s inkjet technology used within the Epson SureLab D700 sets it apart from dye sublimation models in the market that print only on limited media. This model can print on a wide range of media and formats including glossy, lustre and paper-based matte media, varying in size from 10-21cm wide and from 8.9-100cm in length. This means that it can effortlessly print photos, cards, invitations, flyers and promotional leaflets, making it suitable for copy shops and photographers who want to expand their existing business by offering associated products and services to drive new revenue streams, while further benefitting from its low cost per print.

Vernon Mellors, business account manager at Epson South Africa, says: “After the successful introduction of the SureLab D3000 for high-volume photo production, the SureLab D700 is a logical next step for Epson. It is compact and can deliver small to medium production runs or can be used for kiosk printing. At the same time, it is a mobile lab solution and you can use it on-site at events and for school photography with no compromise on print quality and media flexibility.”

The Surelab D700 offers long service intervals and low maintenance requirements. A durable, long-lasting cutter blade reduces downtime and maintenance costs, boosting productivity and ensuring that users can offer their customers a consistent and reliable service.

Building on Epson’s success in professional photo printing, crisp and vivid image quality is assured by its proven Micro Piezo printhead technology. When used in conjunction with Epson’s UltraChrome D6-S ink, the SureLab D700 boasts a wide colour gamut. The printed images are sharp and defined thanks to its high 1440dpi x 720dpi (max) resolution, variable sized ink droplets and precise droplet placement.

The new Epson SureColor D700 printer will be showcased at FESPA Africa from the 2nd – 4th July 2014 for the first time to the South African market.
