The Epson L655 is very well made, although that shouldn’t come as a surprise for a product in this category.
The package includes enough ink for 11,000 pages.
Whether the manufacturer’s promise can be fulfilled remains to be seen. I wasn’t able to print 11,000 pages in this short amount of time!
Filling the tanks is pretty straightforward. The bottles of ink are ready to fill the tanks in next to no time. The filling instructions in the package explain the individual steps simply and with clear illustrations.
If there’s anything left in the bottle after filling, you can seal this with a lid and store until the next fill.
Once the printer’s been filled with the black, cyan, magenta and yellow inks, you can connect to the power supply. On first use the printer’s nozzles are filled with ink. This can take up to 20 minutes.
But the first installation of the printer runs automatically and the steps are explained in the display.
Installing the software is also a piece of cake for any user!
If you follow the supplied brief instructions step by step the printer will soon be ready for work without any major hassle!
L655 offers the user a lot of options to send print, scan or fax orders. Via laptop/MacBook and smartphone, via WLAN or USB connection or remote access from on the road. You can also use the Epson online storage, which you can combine with services such as Google Drive. It’s also possible to send print orders via email to the printer.
Because the printer is always on standby, naturally even in sleep mode, you can connect to it from anywhere in the world and send orders to it. Also, the printer doesn’t need long to respond!
If you download the app “Epson iPrint” to your smartphone, you have various options for connecting to the printer. (Display the ink levels, online storage, scanning etc.) You can even record documents using the smartphone camera and print them directly. The online storage accesses the main clouds such as Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive etc.
I use the printer with an Apple MacBook, iPhone and iPad. And so far I’ve got no complaints. I’ve been able to send print orders to the L655 from every app.
The quality of the prints I’ve made so far can’t be faulted!
I’ve not yet been able to try out the fax function. But I’m sure it will work as well as the functions I have tested so far.
The printer’s scanner can be used as a flatbed scanner or via the document infeed. The pages are fed in quickly and cleanly. You can scan in either JPEG or PDF format. You can also decide if it should be saved in the online storage or on the computer.
For the home office and private users who need to print, scan and maybe even fax, I can only recommend it!!!"
